Lives in NYC

BIO
My notion of fine art in Las Vegas extended as far as the plaster sculptures outside Caesar's Palace. I grew up in southern Nevada in an at-risk household, with sketchbooks and skateboards as sources of refuge. In 2009 I was the first in my family to graduate college, receiving a BFA in painting from University of Nevada, Las Vegas. From there I moved to Boston––as instructional support at the Wellesley College Art Department––which led me to New York, receiving my MFA from New York University in 2019. I have 15 years experience as an artist, with works in the Museum of Modern Art Archives, Whitney Museum Library, New York Public Library, Printed Matter, and with the Art Production Fund. I am a former visual art professor at Rhode Island School of Design, NYU Steinhardt, and Bentley University. I currently live in New York and am an Assistant Professor of Studio Art at the University of Mount Saint Vincent in North Bronx. My hometown of Las Vegas––a dichotomy of community and spectacle, consumption and production, reenactment and reality––informs my outlook and work.
